According to the CDC in the US 1.7 million people in the US develop Sepsis, with approximately 350.00 people dying or discharged to a hospice. One out of 3 patients dying in a hospital had sepsis during hospitalization. Sepsis, or the infection causing sepsis, starts before a patient is hospitalized in nearly 87% of cases.
EUROPE
According to the European Sepsis Alliance 2021 report there are 3.4 million sepsis cases in Europe, with 700.000 patients dying annually. Amongst the 3.4 million cases, elderly people, neonates and children are the most affected population group.
